Ed Pustejovsky - Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach
A proud Texas A & M letterman, Ed Pustejovsky has been coaching at Cy-Fair for 32 years. He and his wife Marianne, a teacher and coach at Cy-Fair, have four children and two grandchildren. Future Bobcat Joe Michael, 10, and three Cy-Fair graduates, Parker, 25, a graduate of Sam Houston State, Arley, 28, a Texas A&M graduate, Ashley, 30, and her children Jonah, 6, and Lola, 4.

 

Roy Smith
Cy-Fair graduate, offensive coordinator, quarterback coach and boys track coach, Roy Smith has been with the Bobcats for 33 seasons. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Teaching and Master's Degree in History from Sam Houston State University. Coach Smith is married to Ginger and has three children, Crystal, 28, David, 18, and Peyton, 16.

 

Robbie Legg
Coach Legg will begin his 13th year at Cy-Fair. As defensive coordinator, Legg will coach the varsity linebackers and assist with boys track. He has a degree from University of North Texas and has taught 19 years in high school, seven of those years at Tomball High School. Coach Legg’s wife is Tricia, and they have three children, Mackenzie, 16, Hayden, 13, and Faith, 6.

 

Rusty Hicks
Coach Rusty Hicks enters his 34th year with Cy-Fair as co-defensive coordinator, varsity defensive back coach, and head boys golf coach. Hicks holds a Bachelor of Science from San Angelo State. He is married to Cathy who is the Director of Instruction Helping Teacher at Cy-Fair. He has three daughters (all Cy-Fair graduates). Sara is 27 and is a graduate at UT and a graduate of South Texas School of Law. Jena, 26, is a Young Life Director in Colorado, and Jessica, 23, is a recent graduate of UT.

 

Woody Champagne
Defensive line and head baseball coach Woody Champagne has been at Cy-Fair for 34 years. He holds a degree from the University of Houston and coached for eight years at Eisenhower High School before coming to Cy-Fair. He is married to Cathy, who previously taught Foreign Language at Cy-Fair, and has two children who are Cy-Fair graduates, Andrea, 30, and Nick, 25, son-in-law Mark Wilson and grandsons Connor and Colton. Champagne is a native Houstonian.

 

James Reese
For the past 28 seasons, varsity running back and head track coach Jimmy Reese has taught at Cy-Fair High School. Reese has coached at Dulles, San Antonio Southwest, and Bellaire High Schools along with Stephen F. Austin University. He holds a Bachelor of Science & Master’s Degree in Education from Stephen F. Austin University and is a Dulles High School graduate.  He is married to Paula and has two daughters, Amanda and Colleen and grandson Ethan, age 2.

 

Adam Chew
A Cy-Fair graduate, Coach Chew begins his 9th year with the Bobcats. He will be coaching varsity bandits and in addition is our strength & conditioning coach. Coach Chew came to Cy-Fair from Labay Middle School. He is a University of Houston graduate. Chew’s wife is Kari and they have a daughter, Julia, 8, and son Nathan who is 3 years old.

 

Tad Hammel
Also starting his 9th year with Cy-Fair, Hammel will coach varsity receivers and sophomore basketball. His coaching experience includes Arnold and Thornton Middle Schools and two high schools in Louisiana. He graduat-ed from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, in his hometown of Durant, OK. He is married to Cindy and has daughter named Jordyn who is 18, who will be attending LSU in the fall.

 

Walter Robb
Coach Robb begins his 3rd year at Cy-Fair as our varsity defensive end and JV baseball coach. He was a LaPorte High School graduate, holds a BS in Kinesiology from Sam Houston State University, and a Masters in Education Administration. He has coached at Galena Park, Livingston, Conroe, North Shore, and Spring. Coach Robb is married to Marsha and has a daughter, Marilyn 14, and 3 sons, Parker, 12, Brandon, 11, and Douglas, 1.

 

Mike Janak
Second year Bobcat Mike Janak will coach the offensive line and freshman basketball. Coach Janak was a graduate from Santa Fe High School. He holds a BA in Education from Texas Lutheran University where he coached for a period of time while he began his graduate work at Texas State Universi-ty . He recently was a Graduate Assistant for Texas State Football and where he received his Masters in Education.

 

David Maddox
Head freshman football coach David Maddox begins his 25th year at Cy-Fair High School. Maddox was a graduate of St. Pius High School and holds a degree from the University of Houston. He coached for three years at Arnold Middle School before becoming a Bobcat. Maddox is an avid dog trainer. He is a native Houstonian.

 

Coach Gray

Taylor Gray
Coach Gray starts his 2nd year at Cy-Fair, coaching Freshman Football and Sophomore Baseball. A Cypress Creek graduate, coach Gray played football at Army, graduating from West Point in 1990. An Army Ranger, he spent 20+ years as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army. His enlistment time, included 2 combat tours in Iraq. He will be teaching Physics. Coach Gray is married to his high school sweetheart, Kristi and has three children- Kirby, 14; Taylor, 12; and Katie, 7.

 

Brad Clinkscale
A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Coach Brad Clinkscale begins his 5th year as a Cy-Fair Bobcat. He coaches freshman football and is the assistant wrestling coach. He previously coached at Hopper Middle School. Clinkscale is married to Coach Amby Clinkscale, a former Cy-Fair coach, and they have a 3 year old son named Brayden.

 

Jonathan DeAvila

Jonathan DeAvila

Coach De Avila begins his first year at Cy-Fair High School and will coach freshman football as well as assist with wrestling. He is a native Houstonian and a graduate from Aldine High school. Coach De Avila received a BS in Business Management from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA where he also played football on the offensive line for the Colonels. He comes to Cy-Fair with 2 years of coaching experience at Eisenhower High School where he served as an assistant offensive line coach


 

Head Athletic Trainer - Chris Graf

Chris begins his third year at Cy-Fair and his 1st year as Head Athletic Trainer. His hometown is Vernon, Texas and he holds a BS in Athletic Training from Baylor University. He was previously a clinical intern for Baylor and Midway High School in Waco. He was an athletic trainer at Grapevine High School before becoming a Bobcat. Chris is married to Katie.

 

Assistant Athletic Trainer – Katie York

Katie beings her 1st year at Cy-Fair as Assistant Athletic Trainer. She is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. Katie holds a BS in Athletic Training from the University of Cincinnati and a MEd in Health and Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Tyler. Previously, she has worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer at Walt Disney World in Orlando FL, as well as at Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler.

 

Athletic Secretary - Dianne Moore
Dianne begins her 14th year at Cy-Fair and 12th year as Athletic Assistant. She is a 1975 Cy-Fair High School graduate. Moore is married to Keith and has two Cy-Fair graduate sons Brian, 31, is a graduate of Southwest Texas State University, and Brent, 26, is a graduate of Texas State University.
